Ooo...Black Diamonds
Did you know that the exotic black diamonds found in Brazil and the Central African Republic may have actually come from outer space? Although there is some debate which requires further tests, I think that I need to start packing for space...I'm thinking that one of the 3,600 carat diamonds could pay off my education loans :)

Aren't diamonds mined? How long have these been on the planet?
The diamonds were mined. Here's a quote from the National Geographic article that will hopefully explain: "The deposits in the Central African Republic and Brazil, he said, probably come from the impact of a diamond-rich asteroid billions of years ago, when South America and Africa were joined." Pretty neat huh?
